Trying ways
Up front, I feel that I must state,
I know wherein my victory lies.
Not to say easy. never late,
and in the process, hows and whys.
As I launch out on projects new,
all in the dark and so resistant
to steps it takes to see it through,
my first attempts are quite consistent.
A shortcut, simply by its name,
reveals the length of effort's span.
But I have just myself to blame,
when it supplants an ordered plan.
To remedy the haste's result,
I approach each and every way.
No good comes from finding fault;
not too late to reassess and pray.
So then, I'll not resort to crying,
but must admit, "attempting is trying."
