Humor's Gift
Sometimes the sweetest parts of life are spoof;
Efforts to make sense of it meet futility.
Giggles serve to take the place of valid proof;
realization of the trickiness brings glee.
Surprising resolution to a little tale,
can turn polite attention into mirth.
A mellowing of mood should reason fail,
thus demonstrates a sense of humor's worth.
So, when the heaviness of tedium sets in,
to cut the likeliness of harm in half,
remember, nonsense may the victory win.
If not, it doesn't cost a cent to laugh.
