Triumph of the Positive

I recall sometimes when I've been tried,
by my dear one's ways,
I've found I could turn complaint aside,
by thankfulness and praise.

I would say, "Thank You, dear Lord,
that he's a Christian man,
that he believes and trusts Your word;
in the end, he'll see Your plan."

And, so I went about my way,
peace returning to my heart,
for, though I hadn't won the day,
I felt I' d done my part.

I thought how I'd held back the words,
I thought of, just a'fumin',
shocked what I, then, overheard,
"Thanks, that she's a Christian woman."
